Simply Knitting issue 94 hits shops today and is chock-full of exciting knitting patterns!
The UK will really be putting on a show this summer, and what’s more, it’s one that everyone can take part in. We know many people have big plans to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and come July everyone can get involved with the drama of the Olympics – next issue we’ll have some fun knits to celebrate the skills of athletes, past and present, for you to make – whether you managed to get tickets or not!
This month is all about red white and blue, not just in a patriotic sense, but also a nautical sense, with Sarah Hatton’s stylish striped cardigan on page 12 and Sublime’s cool skull set for young pirates on page 21!
For something almost lighter than air, try Kirstie McLeod’s seam-free top in King Cole baby alpaca.
For something quirkier, look out for our Owl fingerless mitts by Amanda Jones (pictured below), and Alan Dart’s groovy troll.
Alternatively, knit something completely different for your home with our uber-ruffled cushion by Elizabeth Jarvis!
Elsewhere in the issue we visit a knitting group in Northwich, explore a knitted village and head to the Arctic on a knitting cruise! We also chat to Sue Stratford about her knitting life, and flag up some fun ways to knit for the Royal Jubilee!
This issue we’re giving you a set of pretty beaded stitch markers – why not use them to make Debbie Bliss’ beautiful lacy cardi? The knitting pattern is part of this issue’s free ‘Simply Summery’ supplement.
Don’t forget we have lots of fabulous competitions and giveaways in this issue too!
Simply Knitting 94 is on sale in shops until 12 June 2012.
Up to six months after publication, this issue may be available to buy as a back issue by phoning our customer services people on 0844 848 2852, and you can also buy back issues of Simply Knitting online.
