Where do you knit?

This unusual piece of furniture is the 'Lese + Lebe' (Read + Live) from Nils Holger Moormann but we think it would make an excellent knitting retreat and yarn store, all in one. It's on wheels, which means you can turn it around to get to the second bookshelf built into the back of it – or to hide your untidy knitting nook when guests come calling – but it's the front that has us saving our Euros. The German designer has inadvertantly created an amazing piece of furniture for knitters.

As you can see, the bottom drawers pull out to become footrests and the front panels fold down into a handy table, perfect for resting your knitting notions, pattern or spare yarn on. There's also quite a lot of attractive storage space – use the shelves at the back for books, magazines and yarn you like to have on show, and tuck your less attractive or more precious yarns – and perhaps a half-finished project or two – out of sight on the shelves shown above. It's even got lights built in!

Unfortunately, wishing hasn't caused a 'Lese + Lebe' to turn up on our doorstep, so we'll have to make do with what we've got. Tomorrow we'll tell you a bit about our favourite knitting spots, but in the mean time, we'd love to hear from you.

Where's your favourite place to knit?
