Alison Hamnett, the knitter, yarn dyer and occasional seamstress behind the Laughing Yaffle blog has a great eye for colour, and uses it to advantage on her blog, creating a vibrant, colourful world.
One of the nice things about this blog is that Alison isn't afraid to show you the creative clutter which lurks out of sight behind the artfully stacked fabrics and neat lace.
Aided and abetted by her dog, she knits, dyes and sews – and shows off the successes and mistakes with equal interest. After all: what's a tangled skein but a puzzle waiting to be solved?
Alison has just launched her online shop, so expect even more dyeing and knitting!
The shop is packed with gorgeous hand-dyed yarns, needles and even some hand-made accessories. Her first day's trading was 1 April 2009, so click through and have a look – you heard it hear first!
