We've had a number of people write in to ask us to extend the length of time our competitions are open, as they've often shut by the time Simply Knitting hits the newsstands overseas.
Unfortunately, for legal reasons we are unable to accept competition entries from people who are not resident in the UK, so we will be keeping the competition deadlines as they are.
You can still write to us, of course, and we love to hear from all our readers, wherever they live – the letters page is not a competition, although there is a small reward for writing to us and being published!

That's a good point! I think it's because the same system is used for a variety of things, across a wide range of magazines, so it's not tailored to our particular needs.
