We've got some lovely knits for you – and your family. Our cover project is a really versatile woman's gilet – subscribers get more ideas of how to wear this wardrobe staple on page 22 – and we've also got a pretty blue and white jumper to help you stretch your Fair Isle skills.

Men will love our cosy man's cardigan in soft browns and dinosaur lovers of all ages will be clamouring for our brilliant dinosaur jumper. It'll fit chest sizes 25-30in (68-78cm) which is roughly kids sizes 4-8 years but if your favourite paleontologist is a bit bigger then the design would look on a great cushion or throw too.

If you're looking for a quicker knit, try our fab vintage style clutch or one of the 12 patterns in our Quick & Easy Knits section.

This month, we're getting ready for Easter so we've got some fab Easter eggs and cute egg cosies to decorate your table with.

We've also got some great gift ideas, whether you're treating a friend to a luxurious lace scarf or a new arrival to a pair sweet baby bootees – or yourself to a pair of bright knee high socks.

Alan Dart has also caught the bug and has made a whole catwalk of Easter bonnets with cute chicks to model them.

A parade of seven Easter chicks each wearing a bonnet. Bonnets include: a daffodil, a bluebell, a basket of Easter eggs, a fried egg. Hand knitted and designed by Alan Dart

They're so fun and unusual that kids and adults alike are sure to love them and they're quick to knit so they make a great alternative to chocolate.

Other great things to look out for in issue 65 include:
  • New 'Fair Isle' effect yarns.
  • Rachael Matthews is setting fire to a spinning wheel.
  • All about the largest knitted rock in the Tate.
And don't miss any of your usual favourites: we're testing the best chunky yarns, you've sent us loads of great letters and our experts solve your knitting problems.

I'm really disappointed that my copy hasn't arrived by post yet. None of my Ravelry friends have got theirs either.

Hi Kira,

Have you tried calling the subscriptions people to check when your copy was dispatched? We don't have access to any subscriptions systems here in the Simply Knitting office, so we don't have any info on dispatch dates. We haven't had office copies yet either.

I haven't as yet but someone who has was told to ring back next Monday if it still hadn't arrived. Thanks anyway Miriam. you must be as frustrated as we all are.

Hi Kira,

We've just got our copies, so the subs people must have had a delivery too. I don't know how quickly they go from box delivery to mailing copies out, I'm afraid. Apparently the cover gift was late arriving (it had to be shipped from overseas) and that's what's caused the delay.

Thanks Miriam. I look forward to getting my copy soon.

Like all my fellow subscribers I'm disappointed that I haven't received mine either.

I telephoned the subscriptions people who said that if I hadn't received mine by today to ring back on Monday!!

Not very pleased this month as I have my knitting club on Sunday and would have got a discount on any wool purchased that day and I normally knit "something" from each magazine!!!

Not only has the subscription not come it is NOT in the shops in various parts of the country either as stated on this site - see ravelry.
Subscribers were notified of delays due to bad weather, which is not in their control but a late shipment of the gifts obviously was known in advance in order to package them with the magazine.
VERY disappointing from a magazine with a reputation such as this.

Issue 65 is now hitting doormats across the country. Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm confident that it will. I was a bit concerned until I read the post from Miriam yesterday.

My post has just arrived, but no magazine, I am a suscriber & I wasn't warned about any delay due to bad weather etc, can't check the shops round here though as the nearest stockist is 10 miles away. I was getting concerned too until I read the other posts, thanks for the reassurance.

Oh & one more thing
***Happy birthday Miriam***

:) Thanks, Shaz.

Jenny, if ever you need to know the ball count for something in advance in time for your knitting group, just drop me a line. I should be able to let you know what yarns things on the Next Month page will need.

Jane, as far as I know the gifts left China on time, but bad weather delayed them. We here in the SK office just make the magazine, we don't handle the printing, packaging or distribution. The first I knew about issue 65 being late was when I started getting emails from people about it, and I looked into it then. Had Elizabeth or I known about the delay, a posting would have gone up on the blog. It's certainly not our intention to disappoint anyone, and I'm sorry you have had a bad experience.
