Hello,

in december I have renewed my subscription for Simply knitting magazine. I am a foreign subscriber. Would there be a way I could get the sock book with a discount?

Kind regards,

Marijke

I would have the same question. I would also be willing to purchase the sock book at a reduced rate, just to have it too. I understand that shipping would be more also. Thank you.

Posted by Hollie (127.0.0.1) on March 23, 2008 at 11:20 AM GMT #

Hi Marijke and Hollie,

I'm afraid we can't offer the book at a discount. However, you can buy it via Amazon.co.uk, and it looks as though they've reduced the price from the RRP.

hi, i subscribed to your magazine and got the 3 issues for £1. they said i would get a gift too but i never received one.
thanks jan

Hi Jan,

You need to get in touch with the subscriptions people (tel 0844 848 1602 or email simplyknitting-AT-subscription.co-DOT-uk). We don't have anything to do with subs in the Simply Knitting office. Your data is all held securely, and the copies get mailed out from a completely different city, so we don't have access to any information at all on your personal subscription.

For anyone who's thinking of subscribing, ALWAYS remember to quote the code stated in the magazine when you set up your subscription. This will ensure that you get your gift. The offers do vary from month to month, so the code also ensures you get the correct gift.

Hi, I have just subscribed to simply knitting. i have not received my free gift yet. When I emailed I was told it was not going to come. Surely this is false advertising?

Posted by Linda Kennett (127.0.0.1) on March 24, 2009 at 08:46 AM GMT #

When you phone up to subscribe, don't forget to quote the order code. There are usually several different offers running at any one time, so you have to quote the correct code to get the gift.

Also, gifts are only available to UK subscribers subscribing by Direct Debit, as it says in the small print.

(NB I don't make these rules! I'm just telling you what they are!)

Posted by Miriam (127.0.0.1) on June 26, 2009 at 08:21 AM BST #

Iwas looking for a way to subscribe to your lovely magazine for a year as Ido not want to set up a direct debit, but if I do this I will not recieve the little sewing matchine. Can you tell me why people like me are being exclude from this offer?. thankyou.

Posted by Mrs Barbara Murrant (127.0.0.1) on October 21, 2009 at 06:24 PM BST #

Hello Barbara,

Different subscription offers have different terms & conditions, and this particular one is only open to new UK subscribers paying by direct debit, so if you don't meet those criteria for whatever reason you won't be eligible.

The subscriptions team set up the special offers which they think will work best for both Simply Knitting and our subscribers. If you'd like to chat to them about it you can call 0844 848 2852.

You can subscribe for a year using a different offer at www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk The current offer doesn't come with a gift but does give you a discount on the shop price.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth

Posted by Greta Coombs (127.0.0.1) on November 11, 2009 at 10:46 PM GMT #

Hi Greta,

You can subscribe online at www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk or by calling +44 1858 4389 874. Just click on the overseas subscription box when you get to the magazine you want or tell our subscription team where you're based.

Happy knitting!

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a subscription to SK. I live in the US and know I need to go through www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk (or another source that serves the US), but I can't seem to locate any information about whether or not such a subscription comes with the "free item" that normally accompanies each issue when bought at a news stand/store.

Also.... obviously the free items aren't included should I opt for the downloadable subscription, but how about when the freebie is a print-out (such as some of the Alan Dart patterns, etc.)?

Lastly, is there any deal for those who subscribe to both the printed and downloadable versions of the subscription? (I like looking through the actual magazine, but it sure would be nice to have an electronic version for keeps.)

Thanks,
Sanne

Posted by Sanne Larsen Bagby (127.0.0.1) on November 30, 2009 at 05:46 PM GMT #

Hi Sanne,

Each issue should come with the cover gift when you subscribe - if you're overseas, you sometimes won't sea a particular gift at the newsstand due to shipping or local regulations - for example, I seem to recall that scissors were a problem for one of our sister titles.

None of the free gifts - even the printed patterns - are available with the Zinio subscription at the present time. I will mention this to the editor though.

I don't think there are any special offers for subscribing both ways - although again, I'll mention it to our subscription team so that may change in the future.

Happy knitting!

I subscribe by direct debit so I only got the free gift the year I set it up - which is fair enough. But - I WANT that box. I would go so far as to say I NEED that box. i have spent the last 2 evenings browsing e-bay looking for something like it withouut finding anything nice enough really. So - where can I get hold of it for myself - is that possible?

Posted by Anne (127.0.0.1) on December 10, 2009 at 09:37 AM GMT #

Hello Anne,

Glad you like the gift! I think the boxes are available from www.miccraft.net just called 'sewing box' in the 'storage boxes' section.

Happy knitting (and shopping...)!

I am living overseas and is thinking of taking up the subscription to simply knitting. However would overseas subscribers receive the free gifts that comes with the magazine?

Hello...I agreed to subscription over the phone and have not received my first copy yet....will I be allegible for Vintage storage box code wo23...Thank-you

I had requested a mini stich machine for Christmas and was so excited to see it as a subscription gift when you sign up. I asked my partner for the next item on my list - a decent kitchen knife - instead. We are not well off and I sacrificed my 'luxury item' for the practical one. After phoning and emailing several times, and being told 4 different dates that my item had been dispatched, I have now been told there are none left. I am not confident that the item was ever dispatched, I feel that I have been mis-lead and in addition I am left with a kitchen knife to enjoy instead of something that was going to be a real treat for me as a thank you for going without while I have supported him through uni for the past 3.5 years. I feel strongly about this and think you should receive this feedback as it tarnishes your name and reputation with readers - especially when I notice other similar posts on this blog. To some of us it is more than a free gift. But I love your magazine and it would hurt to cancel my subs although I am seriously considering it now.

Posted by Eleri (127.0.0.1) on January 26, 2010 at 11:50 PM GMT #

Hello everyone! Please remember that this website is managed by the editorial team and for your privacy we don't have access to any of your subscriber details. For this reason, it's best to contact the subscriptions team directly by calling 0844 848 2852 or emailing simplyknitting-AT-subscription.co-DOT-uk if you have any problems.

-AT- Siew Cheng - overseas subscribers will usually receive the free cover gift (e.g. bamboo handles) unless there are restrictions on import for that item (I think we've had problems with scissors in the past). You won't receive the subscription gift, as this offer is for new UK subscribers only.

@ Mrs J Dyer - If you quoted the offer code when you placed your order, you should receive the gift, if you didn't you won't - as I understand it. Please contact the subscriptions team for details regarding your particular subscription.

@ Eleri - I'm really sorry to hear your gift hasn't turned up. I've forwarded your message to one of our subscriptions team.

If anyone is having a problem like this which hasn't been resolved, and have already contacted the subscription team directly, please email us at simplyknitting@futurenet-DOT-com and we'll do our best to find out what's going on.

It may take a little while though because, as I mentioned above, we don't have the same access the subscriptions team do.

Happy knitting!

Elizabeth

We would like to apologise to those subscribers who have not received their mini stitch sewing machine, which was the subscription gift offered within issues 60 & 61 of Simply Knitting.

Due to the popularity of this offer, we exhausted all stock and on attempts to order in more sewing machines to fulfil our outstanding orders, our supplier informed us that the product had been discontinued and no further stock was available.

If you have experienced any problems, please contact us on 0844 848 1602

After reading your posts about subscriptions and offers,I have come to conclusions its all twoddle ! I subscribed to Simply Knitting magazine as part of partners christmas box in November, set up a direct debit and quoted code for the 'sewing machine freebie'. After 3 months of waiting and numerous e-mails I still have not recieved this and have been asked to make a different choice 'because they have ran out of the machines'. Then they asked me for the link to the advert as 'they cant find it online'. I also had one lady imply via e-mail, that 'ALL machines had been sent out and none had been returned'!This as you can imagine made my blood boil as surely they have a 'sign on delivery' policy as any normal company would have in this day and age.
I set up a direct debit, and I pay in advance,so really some of your replies do not 'ring true' to the querents.

Posted by D.Erskine (127.0.0.1) on February 04, 2010 at 07:35 AM GMT #

Hello D.Erskine,

If you email us at simplyknitting AT futurenet DOT com we'll do our best to chase up the subs team and get them to resolve the problems you are having.

As I've mentioned before, the blog is run by the editorial team, so although we're happy to help and will answer questions here to the best of our abilities we do not handle subscriptions in this office. Subscriptions are handled by a different company based in another county.

For this reason we always recommend you contact them first, but if you are struggling to resolve an issue then please do email us and we will see what we can do.

We update this post every month as we found that having expired offers (or dead links to pages where expired offers used to be) was causing some confusion and frustration which is why you won't have been able to find the link to the previous offers.

If anything I've said was confusing or not clear please do let me know.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the problems that you have experienced to date in regards to your subscription gift.

Unfortunately due to the vast number of subscription gifts that we send out, we’re unable to send these by recorded delivery so are unable to track the gift once it’s left our warehouse.

On occasion when subscription gifts do go missing, we endeavour to send out replacements with immediate effect.

Unfortunately on this occasion this has not been possible as our supplier has discontinued this product and we are unable to obtain any further stock. Whilst stock has been exhausted for the mini sewing machine, we are offering subscribers a list of suitable replacements instead.

HI, I have just returned back from a weeks holiday on the Norfolk Broads and whilst out shopping I purchased Simply Knitting (Friday). Only to find when I got it back to my holiday accommodation and got through the packaging that the 'free gift' was broken in half. Not very impressed!!!!!
